Job Title: Assistant to the Lead Caregiver Trainer & Caregiver — Field Support, Training & Meet-and-Greets (Howell/Brighton)
Body:
FirstLight Home Care of Greater Brighton is hiring a flexible, people-first Assistant to our Lead Caregiver Trainer to support our clients, families, and caregivers across the Howell and Brighton area. This is a hands-on hybrid role: you'll spend about 20 hours a week assisting with training and field supervision, and about 20 hours a week providing direct client care.
Why this role is a great fit:
- $36,400/year to start ($1,400 biweekly), full-time, with room to grow
- Variety every day — no two days look the same; you'll split your time between supporting training, checking in on care quality, and working directly with clients
- Paid, hands-on training — plus CPR, First Aid, Memory Care, and Parkinson's training
- Real advancement — Since most of our office team began their careers as caregivers, you'll always have direct contact to someone who can understand, assist, and provide support.
- Benefits — Blue Care Network health, dental, and vision available; paid sick time after 120 days; bonus pay and wellness resources such as FREE Telehealth, free medication, and free mental health guidance through Vitable
Do you have a heart for care and a talent for helping others grow? If you've cared for clients or loved ones and enjoy supporting a team, this role lets you do both — help develop our caregivers while staying connected to the hands-on work that matters.
What you'll do:
- Assist the Lead Caregiver Trainer with hands-on training for new and current caregivers
- Conduct supervisory visits in clients' homes to ensure care quality and that care plans are being followed
- Perform client meet-and-greets and welcome visits for new clients and their families
- Provide direct client care about 20 hours per week — bathing, dressing, mobility, transfers, and companionship
- Step in to support scheduling and coverage needs, including some nights and weekends
What we're looking for:
- Genuine availability for nights and weekends — flexibility is essential for this role
- Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience; CNA preferred
- Able to provide professional references
- Reliable transportation and a valid Michigan driver's license — you'll travel between client homes
- Strong communication and people skills — you'll help coach caregivers and reassure families
- Dependable, organized, and calm under pressure
- A commitment to doing things the right way, every time
