Northampton, Extremely Unique Opportunity. May 21 to 24, 2026

Caregivers are needed to assist elder alums during their college reunion. This college is a prestigious private women's liberal arts college founded in 1871. We are developing a team of caregivers for this special event.

This group of fascinating elder women graduated in between 1951 to 1961. They're ages range from 97 to 87, All but 1, have a companion, who may not be experienced in elder care. The 1 who doesn't have a companion does have an "on call" companion. Past experience shows a history that these amazing women are generally fit. However, travel may deplete them and they may need an extra level of care. May need to provide:

personal care
assist with presenting prepared meals
assist in the transitions to various on campus reunion activities (shuttle provided)
check in on the well being of the alums
suggest hydration, a rest
call upon campus safety for them to access if an ER visit is necessary.

Here is the very Best Part... Actually, The Best part is this... you will be expected to "spend time in the residence house with the alums - they are amazing human beings with great stories! Talk with them and get to know them and their companions." Oh my goodness! this part is so priceless! I'm kind of jealous because, I want to hear these stories.

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

Visiting Angels West Springfield provides in-home care, senior homecare, elderly care, personal care, transitional care, fall prevention care, companion care, respite care, palliative care, dementia care and Alzheimer's care. Services span from 1 hour visits to 24/7 care.

We service Southampton, Westfield, Southwick, Holyoke, West Springfield, Agawam, Chicopee, Springfield, Indian Orchard, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Ludlow, Feeding Hills and Montgomery. The franchise covers the entire Greater Springfield Area and most of the Lower Pioneer Valley region.

Visiting Angels of West Springfield has official accreditation from the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts. We have also received Home Care Pulse’s award for Best of Home Care - Provider of Choice every year since 2015.

We are currently hiring caregivers!
Basic job requirements include:

Current US driver’s license
Car
1 year of caregiving experience
Ability to pass a background check
Strong ability to read, write, and speak English, including:
- Read ADLs and personal care instructions
- Communicate verbally with clients and families
- Write shift notes to update the family, office, and other caregivers
Punctuality and reliability
Compassionate and caring heart
Patience and willingness to learn new skills

*Certifications are welcome (CNA, HHA, etc.) but not required. We do offer training and mentorship programs to new caregivers.
