Position Summary:
We are seeking a warm, professional, and reliable Doula (birth and/or postpartum) to join our team. In this role, you will provide emotional, physical, and informational support to clients before, during, and/or after childbirth. You will work closely with families, medical providers, and our support staff to create a safe, supportive environment for both the birthing person and their family.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous emotional and physical support during labor and birth.
- Offer evidence-based information to help clients make informed decisions.
- Assist with comfort measures such as breathing techniques, positioning, and massage.
- Advocate for the client’s preferences while respecting medical guidance.
- Support families in the postpartum period with newborn care, feeding guidance, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain open and compassionate communication with clients and their support networks.
- Document services and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and team meetings.
- Certified Birth and/or Postpartum Doula (DONA, CAPPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Prior doula experience is highly valued but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm, grounded, and supportive in high-stress situations.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility for on-call work (for birth doulas).
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
