**Job Opportunity: Caregiver for Elderly Male with Alzheimer's**
- Client: 85-year-old male with Alzheimer's 🧓🧠
- Location: Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach 🏖️
- Pets: One dog 🐶 and two cats 🐱🐱 in the home (no smokers 🚭)
- Care Needs: Standby assistance for personal care and toileting assistance 🚻
- Activities: Enjoys painting 🎨 and playing cards 🃏; very pleasant 😊
- Schedule: 8 AM - 12 PM, 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday, and every other Saturday) 📅, with the potential to increase hours for the right caregiver to allow the family member to return to work 📈
- Family: Wonderful and supportive 👨👩👧👦
The starting pay:
- $17.00 to $17.50 per Hour (with a minimum requirement of at least a PCA Certificate) with a $0.50 raise after the initial training.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs personal care and patient-specific activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living, including but not limited to:
- Help with patient's personal hygiene care
- Assist with dressing
- Prepare meals and snacks according to instructions
- Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments
- Perform light housekeeping activities
- Provide hospice supportive care and medication reminders
- Assist with the prescribed range of motion exercises
- Assist with blood glucose monitoring
- Use lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts
QUALIFICATIONS
- CNA license or PCA certification
- Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
- Ability to interpret the client’s provided plan of care
- Valid driver’s license and transportation
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
- Tolerance to small pets (i.e. dogs and/or cats)
- Must be able to be reached via phone or email for shift schedules, client updates, and/or emergencies
- Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, is a plus!
- Must be able to pass a background check
Compensation: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
